Wyreside Fishery has caravan parking
available for fishermen if required and there is a barbeque area for visitors
who enjoy outdoor cooking.
The Wyreside Angling Centre is now open and stocked with
leading brands of bait and tackle. Telephone Number 01995 679778.

We are open 7 days a week and on Bank Holidays. Discount is
available for current day ticket holders.
The Weird Fish sandwich bar and café
will be opening in April 2008 which will provide a selection of
sandwiches and hot food and drinks to eat in or take away to enjoy whilst
fishing. Food may be pre-ordered by telephoning 01995 679772. The
cafe will have wireless and pay as you go internet stations and sky television
as well as vending machines, for out of hours service, serving hot and cold
drinks and snacks.
There
are both ladies and gents toilets and showers on site and the village shop and
Post Office is adjacent to the site with The Grapes Public House a short walk
into the village.
There is ample car parking and CCTV
security cameras on site.
Anyone fishing at the fishery must
have a substantial landing net, a good quality unhooking mat and carp clinic or
antiseptic. People without these items will not be allowed to fish. These items
can be purchased at reasonable prices fron the wyreside angling centre.
Rules
- All fishermen must report to the Fishery Office to register & obtain a
fishing ticket. If the Fishery Office is unattended, fishermen who have
pre-booked a peg may go straight to that peg and start fishing at the pre-booked
time. They can sign in when the office is open. Fishermen who have
not pre-booked may choose a peg that is not designated as pre-booked and start
fishing. The Bailiff will issue a ticket & collect money in due course &
register fishermen.
- Disinfected large nets and proper, substantial unhooking mats must be used
at all times.
- Maximum of 3 rods per peg.
- Barbed hooks only, maximum size 5.
- No unaccompanied children under the age of 16.
- Carp Clinic or fish antiseptic must be used prior to returning the fish to
the lake.
- Maximum of 2kg of bait per rod.
- Fishing with nuts of any description is not permitted.
- Baited lines/rods must not be left unattended at any time. Fishermen
who leave their pegs unattended must always remove rods from the water.
- Radios or excessive noise outside bivvys is not allowed.
- Litter must be placed in the litter bins provided.
- Cars must always be parked in the allocated spaces. Do not park on the
grass verge.
- Toilet facilities are available and should be used.
- Fishermen & guests are not allowed access to the river or down the flood
bank.
- Leadcore, beach casting rigs & shock leaders are not permitted.
- Lead over 2.5oz in weight is not permitted.
- No dogs are allowed on site.
- Open fires are not permitted. Anyone wishing to barbeque must use the
BBQ area near pegs 5 & 6.
- The use of keep nets or sacks for holding fish is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.
General: Fishermen & guests are expected to behave in an appropriate
manner at all times and show consideration for other fishermen on the the
fishery. Most importantly, we expect fishermen to treat the fish with the
respect they deserve and handle with every care. Wyreside Fisheries
reserve the right to eject fisherman or guests if we feel their behaviour is
inappropriate.
Whilst the consumption of alcohol is permitted, anyone behaving badly under
the influence of alcohol will be barred from the fishery.
Due to previous attempts to steal fish, we reserve the right to check
vehicles at any time. Anyone attempting to remove fish from this fishery
will be prosecuted. |
